Spider Roof Straps (New style)
MH1502EF
After more then nine months developing and testing our new, improved spider roof straps we finally made them available to customers in September 2024. Our injection mould has been updated to use the latest technology and we've used it to test a number of more flexible materials. We've settled on a rubber-based solution to replace the plastics-based one that's been in use since 2012. As a result, the new straps have much greater flexibility and durability.
Our new-style spider roof straps are manufactured in EPDM rubber. They replace our original straps (MH1502) which have been discontinued. EPDM brings significantly improved flexibility in both bend and twist. This eliminates many of the issues that may occur at the key flex points where the straps mount to the car body and allows a much-improved engagement along the roof sides where the spider roof is held in place by the roof straps when it's unfurled.
We've already sold more then 30 sets of the new straps. Here's a quote from a happy customer:
"I finally found time to fit the new roof straps last weekend. What an amazing improvement on the ones I fitted in 2015. A lot more flexible, so I didn't have to force them into place and the bend looks like it shouldn't crack like the old one did."
