Stainless steel X-01 road and track exhaust system by Guy Croft, complete
SS1801
When noted Lancia tuning specialist Guy Croft designed this exhaust system his two primary objectives were to achieve a decibel (noise) figure that met track day requirements and a system as well-balanced as possible to provide maximum outflow of exhaust gases. Guy was always a perfectionist who eschewed such fancy gadgets as twin tail pipes - pointing out that gas flow through the silencer was significantly worse with two pipes as they caused swirl trying to return gases from where they'd come from to reach the right-hand pipe. Guy's elegant and effective solution was to feed exhaust gases from the engine into the silencer using a carefully balanced 4-into-one downpipe with all four pipes the same length. This downpipe feeds gases into the right-hand side of the silencer and the silencer expels them from its left hand side, a 'straight through' system that ensures maximum performance.
Sadly Guy, who was a good friend for many years, is no longer with us. Shortly before he died he wrote to me confirming that the design he produced was originally commissioned by The Monte Hospital and remained our property in perpetuity, so you really won't get a 'GC' system for your Montecarlo or Scorpion anywhere else..
